About

This project was dedicated to creating an interface for graduates of the UXV certification course — something that had long been on the teachers’ to-do list. I was given the opportunity to turn this idea into reality and design the UX and UI for a digital space that reconnects graduates and helps them stay connected. A website accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.

The Challenge

The goal was to build a site graduates return to, forming an active UXV community to stay in touch, for inspiration and job search support. But with a WhatsApp group already in place, the website needed to deliver unique value that chat alone couldn’t provide.

Who are the main users?

A
The graduates

B
The teacher

Juniors

Recent graduates who completed the course 1–3 years ago, with non or very little UX experience.

Pain points:

  • It is difficult to build a Portfolio and CV
  • Who can I ask for UX advice?
  • How can I gain experience?
  • How can I land my first job in UX?

Mid-Senior Level

Graduates with several years of experience in the field.

Pain points:

  • How can I find someone at the company I want to apply to provide a referral?
  • Where can I find a Junior to provide mentroship
  • Where can I share and get inspiration?

The Teacher

A top professional in the field, having taught over 900 UX students.

Pain points:

  • I can’t remember all of my students without seeing a picture
  • Many students contact me needing help to find the next position. I want to help but I am limited with time.

Let's ask the Graduates

25 Participants   •   UXV Graduates

To build a platform graduates actually want to use, it was essential to first ask for their input. 25 Graduates aged 28–50 completed a questionnaire sharing insights about their employment status, current field, desired website features, professional challenges they still face, and ideas for the website’s name. Their feedback revealed exactly what’s needed to transform a simple site into a vibrant hub for the UXV community.

Inspiration

Market research uncovered two platforms similar to the Graduates website, which served as inspiration.

Gvahim is an NGO that supports Olim Hadashim (new immigrants to Israel) by helping them navigate the Israeli job market. The Gvahim Network is a dedicated website for graduates of the program to stay connected, find or offer mentorship, and share job opportunities within the community.

Main Wireframes

Find graduates

A dynamic Graduate Index with search option and filters to help you find alumni, connect with mentors, or reach out to graduates working at companies you’re aiming for.

Show your skills & connect

Your profile is automatically imported from LinkedIn, saving you valuable time. You can add a portfolio section to highlight your work and easily connect with others, and request or offer mentorship within the community.

Job Search

Graduates can post job opportunities on the active Job Board, where interested candidates can reach out directly to posters for potential referrals. Advanced filters make it easy to search by role, company, location, and experience level.

Additional Features

Extra features were designed to make the website more useful and engaging for graduates, motivating them to return and interact regularly.

Quick video tips and UX updates, regularly posted by the teacher.

A page where users can share inspirations —such as projects they’ve created or moodboards— and others can like and save them to their personal collection.

A public chatroom for advice and feedback, with tag and filter options for organized discussions.

Senior graduates and the teacher post regular challenges where participants submit their work, get feedback, and the top three projects are featured on the homepage as an extra incentive.

Upcoming UX events and news are posted here to keep you up to date.

UI Design

After designing the wire frames I designed the interface of the website. The design needed to convey professionalism while also creating a warm, family-like community feeling.  Hence, I chose blue as the main color for the professional look, and some colors to give it a warmer feel.

UX MatchMaker

A site connected to the UXV Club, where companies seeking UX professionals define their needs through a brief questionnaire and get matched with the most suitable graduates. The platform should be fully accessible on both desktop and mobile devices.
